What Makes Krav Maga Different? Why it’s the best

Krav Maga

Throughout the last couple of years, there was hype surrounding the fighting style that’s Krav Maga. Many people began signing up for lessons and starting to train. For me, it has changed my life. It’s different than the other martial arts in many ways. Let’s look at what makes KM unique.

Krav Maga is different from other martial arts because of its dynamic nature. When training in it, the trainee learns to adapt to the specific situation he’s facing. Thus solving it becomes less challenging. For instance, you’ll practice countering a knife attack. Hence you’ll do it quickly.

Krav Maga provides value that most fighting styles don’t come near. Therefore, it’s the best one you can learn. If you haven’t started your journey yet, I highly encourage you to begin, as it’ll give you the initial benefits from training in it.

I wrote an article on the ten valuable benefits Krav Maga grants to the trainee. I highly encourage you to read it as it gives the initial boost of motivation most people need to begin their training.

Differences between Krav Maga and other martial arts

Today, there are many martial arts. Consequently, one may get confused when picking which the wants to learn. Next, I’ll list the key differences between Krav Maga and various martial arts, such as Boxing, Karate, Judo, and more.

If you’re having a challenging time understanding the distinct features every fighting style has to offer, follow this section. It’ll clear things up and change your perspective.

Style

While many martial arts have a specific part of fighting they focus on, Krav Maga is dynamic. For example, in Boxing, you’ll learn; to send powerful punches to the opponent. In Judo, you’ll train, throwing and pinning your enemy to the ground.

In Krav Maga, you’ll do it all. Not only will you send more powerful and assertive punches, but you’ll also be familiar with throwing your opponents to the ground to disable them quickly. As a result, one will utilize many fighting techniques to adapt to any particular situation.

To further explain, sign up for a single KM lesson; to understand yourself. You’ll notice that in training, the instructor explains and lets you practice many techniques, including punching and kicking

However, if you do Boxing, you’ll learn all about jabs and straight punches in the first few sessions. That way, you’ll be fundamentally strong and know the basics. Yet, in Krav Maga, it’s different. In the first few classes, you’ll learn all about the dynamic nature of self-defense. As a result, you’ll train many aspects of fighting and not solely punches.

Training

In general, training in martial arts is challenging and demanding. Yet, Krav Maga is more intense than most of them. As a result, it takes more willpower and dedication to stay consistent in training.

According to a study conducted in April 2019, Krav Maga is an effective workout that meets the ACSM guidelines for managing body weight. Thus you’re able to lose weight and gain muscle by training in it. Furthermore, in an hour-long session, you burn 616 calories on average. (ACE

To emphasize how intense it is, from personal experience, Krav Maga was the most challenging workout I did in my military training. Although it was most likely more demanding than your average KM session, it says plenty about the nature of it.

Here’s a boost of motivation for you.

I wrote an article on whether martial arts is a suitable way to get in shape and whether Krav Maga builds muscle. If you want to learn more about this topic, follow the links to read more about the physical aspects of the training.

Compared to other fighting styles, KM is more dynamic and is more intense. Consequently, its training will be more challenging. Ask anyone who has ever done KM, and he’ll tell you how demanding it is from the trainee.

Yet, don’t be discouraged. Although it’s difficult, you can do it, and you’ll stick with it. I know you’re capable of achieving incredible feats in your life. Krav Maga has helped me with my personal development, and I’m sure it’ll have a similar effect on your life.

Benefits
